One of the sub-committees of the joint working group of the International Standardization Organization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), responsible for developing standards for Coding of audio, picture, multimedia and hypermedia information.


ITU-T Question 6/16 – Visual coding 

ITU is the United Nations specialized agency for information and communication technologies – ICTs.  The Study Groups of ITU’s Telecommunication Standardization Sector (ITU-T) assemble experts from around the world to develop international standards known as ITU-T Recommendations. The goal of Question 6/16 is to produce Recommendations for visual signal coding methods appropriate for conversational and non-conversational audio/visual services.
