About ITTC-SC 29
The ITTC-SC 29 National Mirror Committee was formally established on August 26, 2017, in correspondence with the ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 29. The committee’s objective is to involve Iranian experts in the study and development of international standards pertaining to the coding of audio, picture, multimedia, and hypermedia information. These standards are widely recognized in the industry and are known under the reputable brands MPEG and JPEG.
On December 18, 2017, Iran’s status as a P-member (with voting rights) of JTC 1/SC 29 was officially acknowledged by the international community. As a result, the responsibility of fulfilling Iran’s obligations to the IEC-ISO / JTC1-SC 29 was delegated to the ITTC-SC 29.
